I always wanted a salad spinner and finally bought one at IKEA last year. It definitely works, but it's sort of basic. After all, it did cost less than $5.00.
Unlike my IKEA salad spinner, OXO's model is not only pretty to look at and matches the green walls of my kitchen, but is also full of useful features:
Before I tell you how you can win your own salad spinner, I'm going to share a recipe for Cucumber, Radish & Hearts of Palm Salad.
Cucumber, Radish & Hearts of Palm Salad
Serves 2-4
Ingredients
10 Boston lettuce leaves, washed, dried well and torn into pieces
4 radishes, thinly sliced
2 mini cucumbers, sliced thinly on a diagonal
4 hearts of Palm, sliced thinly on a diagonal
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
salt & pepper to taste
drizzle of olive oil
lemon juice to taste
Directions
1. Combine the vegetables and dill in a bowl. Season with salt & pepper and dress the salad with olive oil and lemon juice.
This salad screams SPRING to me. It's light and has a great bright green color with specks of white and pink. You will get different textures and flavors with each bite. Go make this soon!

I love Spinach, Fennel and Radish Salad with a light vinagrette!
Lately I have been having romaine, cilantro, jicama, and mango with a lime dressing! It's delicious!
Ooh, I've been wanting a salad spinner for a while but haven't gotten around to actually going out and getting one... Looks like this is my chance! Thanks for hosting the giveaway - I just liked Mango & Tomato on Facebook!
My favorite salad combination, h-m-m... there are so many good ones! When tomatoes are in season, the classic Russian salad of tomatoes and cucumbers with dill, parsley, sunflower oil and salt is hard to beat! Radishes, green onions, and hard-boiled eggs with a sour cream dressing are pretty good too - another Russian salad. Then there is the beet salad with walnuts, prunes, and garlic... However, I also love the not-so-Russian mixed greens with crumbled blue cheese, balsamic & olive oil, and perhaps also some dried cranberries sprinkled on top!
spinach, beets, avocado and cheese of some sort. mmmmm...
Iceberg lettuce, spinach, mushrooms, boiled eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon, cucumber, garlic croutons and some kind of creamy dressing like thousand island.
I tweeted about it here: https://twitter.com/#!/mattgoldey/status/194525649820581889

Definitely a lovely spring salad. Greek salads are my new favorite... all that salty feta and kalamata olives. Yum! (I registered for 2 OXO salad spinners... a large one and a small one.)
I've always wanted a salad spinner! I would make the heck out of some herb salad, full of dill and cilantro with fresh radishes and candied walnuts and goat cheese...

Spinach, tomatoes, assorted crisp veggies, cheese (feta, blue, goat), nuts/seeds and dried cranberries with whatever dressing I'm in the mood for that day.
What a pretty salad. I love radish in salads.
I love salads with spring mix, red pepper, scallions, broccoli sprouts, tomatoes, dried cranberries and almonds!
My favorite salad is.... Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucs, artichoke hearts. mushrooms, red onion, and solid white albacore tuna with raspberry walnut vinaigrette dressing. Soooo yummy!! I'd love to make this delicious salad in such a cool salad spinner. :)
I love salads with peppers, olives, asparagus, cheese and something crunchy like croutons or nuts :) My dressing mood changes daily.

Olga,
I love salads! I'm definitely going to have to try this one.
One of my favs I make with a homemade balsamic vinaigrette. It's sorta like an Italian balsamic.
I use a mixture of baby spinach, spring mix and boston or red leaf lettuce then toss. Add VERY thinly sliced red onions, feta, seedless kalamata olives, cucumbers, sweet grape tomatoes.
Then depending on the day or mood I will top the salad with either Grilled Chicken (Marinated in Italian dressing and Garlic for 24 hrs then grilled), Fresh Grilled Yellowfin Tuna mixed with red onions and tomatoes, or slices of sirloin (of course grilled to a perfect med-rare), or a piece of Marinated and Pan Seared Salmon.
Wow, I'm hungry. I think I'm having a salad for dinner. BTW, I tweeted you and added a forward! Look forward to more of your recipes!
I mean I liked you on Facebook... no forwards ( got distracted by food- Sorry!).
I know what you mean about the Ikea spinner! My all time favorite salad is dark lettuce with thick balsamic, heirloom tomatoes, raisins, and a pinch of salt!
Thank you so much for the giveaway! My absolute favorite is a mix of Romaine lettuce, basil leaves, tomatoes and smoked mozzarella served with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt.

I love a nice spinach or frisee salad topped with warm goat cheese or a poached egg.
It's a bit of a tie between 2 kinds. First, there's spring mix, roast beef, blue cheese crumbles, garlic croutons and pomegranate red wine vinegar. The other is hearts of romaine, blue cheese dressing, shredded cheddar cheese, croutons and bacon bits. Salt and pepper on both, of course. The 2nd one, that's what my dad would have 95% of the time while I was growing up, so it's sort of a comfort combination by now :3
(Does caprese salad count? I love love love it too when tomatoes are in season)

Hearts of palm! yummy!
Red and green romaine with cucumber slices, mushrooms, carrot slices from a peeler long and thin, green onion, moistened criasins, feta or blue cheese, hard boiled egg pieces, pecans or walnuts with any good dressing ( raspberry, italian, asian, any vinaigrette, some times pomegranate). I find this combination very versatile and I can add any type of meats (cooked - beef, chicken, pork, bacon , ham ,cold cuts, lobster, crab, ect ) You can even use some fruits or berries. What the heck use both. You are only limited by your imagination!
My favorite salad is romaine, onion, mushroom, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and shrimp. I like caesar dressing or mustard vinaigrette.
I also liked OXO on FB :)
my favorite is romaine lettuce, tomoatoes, avacado, strawberry, sunflower seed
