Back in February, Foodbuzz had an essay contest to win a ticket to A Tastesful Pursuit Dinner hosted by Share Our Strength. I actually won and have been waiting ever since to come to this fabulous event: dinner cooked by well known chefs with proceeds going to finance programs that eradicate child hunger! The dinner took place at Charlie Palmer last Wednesday.
Here are a few shots of the gorgeous views from the Penthouse rooftop!
And then the weather turned and it began pouring!
While on the rooftop, we enjoyed fabulous appetizers, wine, and beer. I especially liked melon cubes with red caviar and beet merengues!
The dinner consisted of 5 courses, each paired with wine. I was a bit tipsy when everything was said and done. The room was gorgeous!
The food was really good, but my favorite was the dessert. It was so rich and sweet that I could not even finish the whole thing...and that's something that doesn't happen too often.
There were powerful speeches by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and MD Governor Martin O'Malley. This was a fabulous evening.

Wonderful dinner for a good cause!
what a wonderful looking dinner! and so well deserved with all the good work you do around the city! congrats olga!
Lovely spring menu! The soft shell crab with mango brown butter looks excellent and the dessert is scrumptious! What was your favorite here?
Wow! That was quite the spread. Much beyond what I have ever experienced. Beautiful pictures. On another note...I love the 3 column format. I use blogger, also, and my format is similar to yours except that it's only 2 columns. Can you share with a not so savvy blogger where you got the 3 column template. Thanks!
How totally fabulous. Looks like a great time.
We actually like the sit down aspect of your dinner much better. The one we went to in Orange County, CA was a bit hectic as you wield plates in a hand and a cocktail in the other, along with brochures and a camera. Glad you had a good time.
Wow! All the food looks amazing!:)
What a beautiful dinner and that dessert.... Hmmm, that is just too good for anyone! Love the photos you took of the view as well! Amazing how weather can turn so quickly!
This is such a win win. A worthy cause and a knock your socks off dinner. I just wish I got to go!
