How is it already August? I can't believe how quickly this summer is passing by. Soon, tomatoes will be out of season. Not to mention the sweet strawberries. Grab those in big quantities while you can!
Last Saturday I went on a fun adventure: I visited three Montgomery County farms. I will post about it later. For now, I'll share with you a super easy and gorgeous salad I made with some of the produce from the farms.
Strawberry, Tomato, Basil & Aged Cheddar Salad Recipe: Produce Directly From a Farm
Ingredients
sliced tomatoes
sliced strawberries
chopped basil
aged cheddar, crumbled {or use feta, fresh mozzarella or goat cheese}
drizzle of olive oil
Directions
1. Layer tomatoes and strawberries on a plate. Top with cheddar and basil. Drizzle with olive oil.
If you are tired of looking at photos: stop! :) I just could not choose my favorite.
Here's to hoping for a very good August!

That salad looks stunning! And it must have tasted amazing with all that farm fresh produce!
I wish this was in front of me right now so I could enjoy it. I don't know if I would devour it or savor every bite. Probably a little bit of both :).
What a beautiful and classic salad. When it's this hot, this is exactly what I want!
So simple and looks fantastic!
Strawberries, tomatoes, and basil are some of my favorite things to eat together! I pair a similar salad with burrata, but cheddar would be a lovely, savory accompaniment.
the strawberries look so tiny and cute!
i like the second to last one the best <3
